01 Getting Started

What is TopDiscordServers?

TopDiscordServers is a directory for Discord servers and bots. Browse by category, compare current votes and activity, then find a community or tool that fits.

Is it free to browse and use?

Yes. It’s free to browse listings, view details, and vote. Listing owners can also pay for clearly labeled promotional spots, but those ads never change organic rankings.

Do I need an account to use the site?

You don’t need an account to browse or search. Sign in with Discord to vote, claim a listing, or manage your profiles.

What is the difference between server listings and bot listings?

Server listings help users discover Discord communities. Bot listings help users find Discord bots and tools. Each listing type has its own categories and profile details.

Can I use the site on mobile devices?

Yes. The site is designed to work on desktop and mobile browsers, including browsing, searching, and voting flows.

Where can I get support if I need help?

Join our support Discord from the Contact Support links on this page. Include your listing URL and a short description so we can help faster.

02 Listings: Servers & Bots

How do I add my Discord server?

Open the Add menu, choose “List Your Server,” and sign in with Discord. Add your server details and submit them for review. Once approved, the listing appears in its categories and tags.

How do I add my Discord bot?

Open the Add menu, choose “List Your Bot,” and sign in with Discord. Add the bot profile, tags, and links, then submit it for review.

Can I update my listing profile?

Yes. If you’ve claimed the listing, you can update its name, description, categories, tags, image, and links from your account.

How do I join a server from its listing?

Open the server page and click the Join image button to open the server invite.

How do I donate to a server?

Open the server page and click the Donate image button, then follow the donation flow shown in the modal.

Why is my listing not showing up?

New and updated listings can take a few minutes to appear. If yours is still missing, check its links and categories. It may also be waiting for review.

03 Webhooks & Vote Alerts

Can I receive Discord notifications when my server gets a vote?

Yes. Claimed server owners can add a Discord webhook from Account > Owned Servers > Webhooks. Each successful vote sends an embed with the voter, server link, and vote time.

How do I set up a server webhook?

In Discord, create a channel webhook and copy the URL. Then open Account > Owned Servers > Webhooks, paste the URL, and save. Use Test to confirm your channel receives the embed.

How do Discord webhook test embeds work?

Each server can send up to five test embeds. The test button shows how many sends remain. Tests do not create votes or change ranking.

Who can manage a server webhook?

Only the authenticated owner of a claimed server can view, replace, test, or remove that server’s webhook. Keep webhook URLs private because anyone with the URL can post to its Discord channel.

Why are webhook alerts not posting to my Discord channel?

Most issues come from an invalid/expired webhook URL, deleted webhook, or changed channel permissions. Re-save the webhook URL and send a test embed. If tests fail, create a new Discord webhook and replace the old URL.

How quickly are vote webhook alerts delivered?

Alerts are usually sent within seconds after a successful vote is recorded. Short delays can happen during peak traffic or temporary Discord webhook issues.

04 Ranking & Votes

How does ranking work for servers and bots?

Community votes drive the rankings. We also check listing quality and consistency. For servers, that includes activity and invite health. For bots, it includes profile quality and recent voting.

How often can I vote?

You can vote for each listing once per voting window. We filter automated votes, duplicate accounts, and other abuse to keep rankings fair.

Can I buy votes or placements?

You can’t buy votes or an organic rank. We remove purchased and artificially inflated votes. Paid promotional spots are labeled and shown separately from vote-based rankings.

Why did my vote not count?

A vote may be rejected if you are still in cooldown, not signed in correctly, or the vote was flagged by anti-abuse checks. Try again after the cooldown window.

Do downvotes affect ranking?

When downvoting is enabled for a listing type, downvotes are included in ranking calculations along with quality and abuse filters.

How do you handle vote abuse?

We use automated checks and manual review to detect spam, botting, duplicate accounts, and suspicious patterns. Invalid votes can be removed from totals.

05 TDS Cash

What is TDS Cash?

TDS Cash is a virtual currency used for services on TopDiscordServers.com, including server boosts. You can see your balance in your account menu and account dashboard.

How do I earn TDS Cash?

You can earn TDS Cash through verified vote rewards, approved platform stats contributions, valid bug reports, and useful suggestions accepted by our team. Rewards are discretionary and may vary by contribution type.

Are all bug reports and suggestions rewarded?

No. Rewards are granted for valid, original, and actionable submissions. Duplicate, low-quality, or non-actionable reports may receive no reward.

Where do I see my TDS Cash balance before purchasing?

When you click the server promotion button, the dialog shows a TDS Cash card (for your wallet or server wallet) before you choose Boost or Bump. You can also view your balance in your account menu and dashboard.

What if I do not have enough TDS Cash?

The purchase is declined and your boost or bump is not changed. Add more balance through normal voting activity, then try again.

Can I transfer TDS Cash to another account?

No. TDS Cash is account-bound and currently cannot be transferred between users.

06 Server Boosts

How do I boost my server?

Open your server page and click the Boost image button. In the dialog, choose your payment source, then choose Boost. You will see the duration cards (1 day, 7 days, 30 days) and can tap one to continue.

Boost button previewBoost

Which button should I click to start a boost?

Use the large server action image button labeled Boost on the server page header or action stack. It opens the promotion dialog where you choose wallet source and duration.

How much does a server boost cost?

Current boost pricing is $7.00 TDS Cash for 1 day, $14.00 TDS Cash for 7 days, and $30.00 TDS Cash for 30 days. One TDS Cash equals $1.00.

What happens if I boost an already boosted server?

The new boost time is added to the existing active boost window. Your server keeps its boosted position while the combined window remains active.

Can I pay with my server wallet instead of my personal wallet?

Yes, if you are the claimed owner of that server. The first promotion step asks you to choose Your Wallet or Server Wallet before continuing.

Does a boost change my organic vote rank?

No. Boosting is a clearly labeled promotional placement and does not rewrite real vote totals. Organic ranking still depends on actual voting activity.

07 Server Bumps

What is a server bump?

A bump refreshes a currently boosted server so it returns to the top of boosted listings by recency.

How do I bump a server?

Open your server page and click the promotion image button. In the dialog, pick your wallet source, then choose Bump. You will see the Bump card with the trend-up icon and the text “Bump this server back to the top.” Tap it to confirm.

Bump button previewBump

Does bumping extend the boost time?

No. Bumping only refreshes boosted position. It does not add days to boosted time.

Can I bump if my server is not currently boosted?

No. Bump is only available for servers with an active boost window. If the boost has expired, purchase a new boost first.

How much does a bump cost?

Bump pricing is configured as a fraction of the 1-day boost price and is shown directly in the Bump flow before you confirm.

How often can I bump?

You can bump as often as needed while your server is actively boosted and you have enough TDS Cash in the selected wallet source.

08 Bot Integration

Where are the Discord bot vote docs?

Use the Discord Bot Vote Command Docs page at /bot-vote-docs for language examples (Node.js, Python, Java, C#, PHP, Go, and cURL), payload format, and error handling guidance.

How do I test bot vote payloads before deploying?

Open the API tester at /bot-vote-endpoint. It is a mock-only JSON tester with preset success and failure responses so you can validate request formatting and bot-side error handling.

What does the vote endpoint require?

Send a POST request to /api/external/discord-servers/{discordServerId}/vote with discord_user_id and direction in JSON. Direction supports up or down, and aliases like upvote/downvote and 1/-1 are normalized.

How can my bot authenticate to the vote endpoint?

You can authenticate with Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY, X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY, or api_key in the JSON body. Keep API keys in environment variables and never expose them in client-side code.

Which environment variables should I set for bot voting?

Set TDS_API_KEY to your external API key and TDS_DISCORD_SERVER_ID to your Discord server ID (guild ID). This keeps your command code simple and makes key rotation easier.

What errors should my bot handle for voting?

Handle 401 for missing/invalid API key, 403 for unregistered users, 404 for unknown server ID, 422 for validation errors, and 429 for cooldown windows. For 429 responses, show retryAfterHuman in your bot message when available.

09 Discord Embed Generator

What is the Discord Embed Generator?

It is a free tool at /embed-builder that lets you design Discord embeds visually with a live preview, then copy ready-to-use code for your bot or webhook. No coding or account is required.

Which languages and formats can I export?

You can copy code for discord.js (Node.js), discord.py and py-cord (Python), disnake, and nextcord, plus raw embed JSON for Discord webhooks.

Does the embed builder support Discord markdown?

Yes. The description field renders Discord markdown in the live preview, including bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, code blocks, and spoilers.

Do I need an account to use the embed generator?

No. The tool runs in your browser and is free to use without signing in. You just design your embed and copy the generated code.

Is my embed content saved or stored?

No. Embed content is processed locally in your browser to build the preview and code output. We do not store the text, links, or images you enter.

How do I use the JSON output with a Discord webhook?

Copy the JSON output and send it in the embeds array of a webhook POST request. This lets you post a branded embed to a channel without running a bot.

10 Verification & Trust

What does the verified badge mean?

A verified listing passed our checks for a working invite, recent activity, and ownership details. For bots, we also review the submitted profile.

How do you prevent fake listings?

We watch invite health, activity patterns, duplicate submissions, and community reports. We lower or remove stale, misleading, and low-quality listings.

How can I report a server or bot?

Use the report option on any listing page or contact support with the listing name, URL, and reason for the report.

How do I apply for verification?

Claim your listing first, complete your profile details, and ensure your invite and links are valid. Our team reviews eligible listings for trust and quality signals.

How long does verification review take?

Review time varies by queue volume and listing quality, but most checks are completed within a few days.

Can a verified badge be removed?

Yes. Verification may be removed if a listing becomes misleading, inactive, unsafe, or no longer meets trust requirements.

11 Account & Billing

How do I log in?

Sign in through Discord. We only ask for the permissions needed to identify your account and help you claim or manage listings.

How do I delete my account?

Open your Account menu and use Delete Account. You must type DELETE one letter at a time in the confirmation boxes. Once confirmed, your account is removed from active access and your listing ownership is released.

What happens after I delete my account?

Account deletion cannot be undone from the website. If you are in the official TopDiscordServers Discord server, we also attempt to remove you automatically. We may retain limited records where required for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or accounting.

Can I recover access after deleting my account?

Deleted accounts are treated as final for normal user access. If you think the deletion was accidental, contact support and we will review your request.

Where can I read your Terms, Privacy Policy, and Community Rules?

You can read them at /terms-of-use, /privacy-policy, and /community-rules. These policies explain account deletion, data retention, voting rules, listing standards, and enforcement.

Are payments secure?

Yes. All payments for promotional features are processed through trusted third-party providers using encrypted connections. We never store full payment details on our servers.

Why was I logged out?

For security, sessions can expire after inactivity or account changes. Sign in again with Discord to continue.

How do I update my profile name or avatar?

Your account identity comes from Discord. Update your Discord profile, then sign out and back in to refresh your synced details.

Can I get a refund for boosts or bumps?

Promotional purchases are generally final once delivered. If there was a technical issue with delivery, contact support with transaction details for review.
