Community Rules & Content Standards

01 Our Purpose

TopDiscordServers helps people find active Discord communities and useful bots. These rules protect visitors, listing owners, and bot developers while keeping the directory honest.

These Community Rules are part of our broader Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Using the platform means you agree to all three.

02 Respect & Safety

Treat others with respect. TopDiscordServers is a public platform used by people with a wide range of interests, backgrounds, and perspectives.

We Do Not Tolerate

• Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse of any individual or group.
• Hate speech, discriminatory language, or content that promotes violence against protected groups.
• Doxxing, sharing private information, or encouraging real-world harm.
• Sexual content involving minors or any form of child exploitation.
• Content that glorifies self-harm, illegal acts, or dangerous behavior.

03 Prohibited Content

All content submitted to TopDiscordServers, including server names, descriptions, images, tags, comments, and reviews, must comply with these standards.

04 Listing Standards (Servers & Bots)

Server and bot listings are the core of TopDiscordServers. Listings must be honest, accurate, and clearly labeled so users can safely choose what they want to view.

All Listings Must

• Represent a real, active Discord server or bot.
• Use accurate titles, descriptions, categories, and tags.
• Mark adult or explicit communities as NSFW.
• Use appropriate images that do not violate our content rules.
• Comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Listings Must Not

• Use misleading names or descriptions to attract clicks.
• Mislabel NSFW communities as safe for work to avoid filters.
• Promise rewards, gifts, or incentives in exchange for votes.
• Be duplicate listings for the same server or bot without authorization.
• Redirect users to unrelated websites or services.

05 Discord Bot Rules

Bot listings must meet the same honesty and safety standards as server listings. Because bots can interact directly with users and servers, they have a few additional requirements.

Bot Listings Must Not

• Be self-bots, user-token automations, or otherwise violate Discord's automation rules.
• Expose bot tokens, credentials, or source code intended to be private.
• Misrepresent the bot's features, owner, or intended use.
• Require excessive permissions beyond what the bot legitimately needs.
• Send unsolicited direct messages or advertisements to users who have not opted in.

05A Public Vote Bot Usage

The TopDiscordServers public vote bot is intended to support legitimate community voting inside Discord servers.

• Do not spam vote commands or attempt to flood interactions.
• Do not misrepresent panel targets, ownership, or listing identity.
• Do not use scripts, self-bots, or coordinated abuse to influence results.
• Server owners are responsible for where the panel is posted and how it is presented to members.

06 Voting Integrity

Votes help the best communities rise to the top. We rely on genuine participation to keep rankings meaningful and fair.

Vote Manipulation Is Prohibited

• Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to cast votes.
• Creating multiple accounts to vote for the same listing.
• Offering money, rewards, or services in exchange for votes.
• Coordinating mass voting campaigns that do not reflect organic support.

07 Account Conduct

When you create or use an account on TopDiscordServers, you are responsible for how that account is used. You may not:

• Create accounts to evade enforcement actions or rate limits.
• Delete and recreate accounts to bypass warnings, suspensions, listing restrictions, or vote enforcement.
• Use another person's identity or Discord account without permission.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically collect data from our platform without authorization.
• Interfere with the platform's security, availability, or performance.
• Misrepresent your affiliation with any server, company, or individual.

08 Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates these rules, please report it to us. Your reports help keep the platform safe and trustworthy.

How to Report

• Contact us on Discord at Contact Support | Discord with details and, if applicable, a link to the listing.
• Include screenshots or evidence when possible to help us investigate quickly.
• Do not abuse the reporting system with false or malicious reports.

We review reports as promptly as possible. Not every report will result in removal, but we take all reports seriously.

09 Enforcement

Violations of these rules may result in a range of actions depending on severity, frequency, and intent. These actions may include:

• Removing or editing violating content.
• Issuing a warning to the account, server owner, or bot developer.
• Temporarily or permanently suspending an account.
• Denying restoration requests when account deletion is used to evade enforcement.
• Removing a server or bot listing from the directory.
• Reporting illegal activity to appropriate authorities.

We reserve the right to take action at our discretion. Our decisions are final in most cases, but users may submit an appeal as described below.

10 Appeals

If you believe your content, listing, or account was removed or restricted by mistake, you may submit an appeal by contacting us on Discord at Contact Support | Discord.

Please include the relevant listing URL, your Discord username, and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect. We will review appeals and respond as quickly as possible.
